The Inspiration

One of the most important lessons I've learned in creating a meaningful life is to explore how I'd like my day-to-day life to feel, what I'd like my everyday existence to look like.

We will explore — and seek answers to — Mary Oliver's question, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

I hope 'A Flourishing Life' serves to inform and educate, but also to empower and spark joy, as well as to inspire action and forward motion. You are most welcome here.

Hi, I'm Julia.

I'm a psychologist and a yoga teacher who found her way into this job in a roundabout way ... because I never intended to be a therapist.

I went to graduate school to become a forensic psychologist.

Which I did, building a thriving private practice... and then later, quite unexpectedly to me, dismantled... to create a (gasp) clinical therapy practice.

I've learned – or at least begun to learn – the magic of letting go and of allowing life to happen more organically, rather than attempting to predict or control everything.

And that, dear reader, is what I have to offer you.

Because I've come to realize that — if I go so far as to say — "my purpose" in being here is to do my best to figure out my own shit, to put what I've learned into action in the practical, meaningful, intentional way I actually live... and to then teach those lessons to you.
